Halim Shafie has resigned as chairman of Telekom Malaysia (TM) to head local regulator Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.
He has been replaced by Sulaiman Mahbob, a former civil servant who is also chairman of groups including the Minority Shareholders Watchdog Group (MSWG) and the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (MIER).
TM CEO Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa said: “With his vast experience and knowledge, we look forward to [Mahbob’s] guidance and leadership as the company continues on its transformation journey and next phase of growth.”
