Telefonica Moviles Chile, the local mobile unit of Spanish incumbent Telefonica, has completed an offering of Ps110bn (US$213m) in notes maturing in 2016.
The notes were divided into two parts, with one being offered in Chilean pesos and the other in “Unidades de Fomento” (UF), a non-circulating currency that is adjusted for inflation in relation to the peso.
The first was an offering of Ps66bn in notes with a yield of 6.59%.
The second was an offering of 2m UF, which had a yield of 3.69%.
The offering was led by the banks Banchile and BBVA.
According to the Telefonica statement, the successful offering would reinforce the solid financial position of Telefonica Moviles Chile, leaving it in an excellent position to confront its future challenges.
