The Spanish secretary of state for telecommunications has reportedly said that the government is not going to make any changes that modify net neutrality.
According to a report by local newspaper El Mundo, Juan Junquera said that there would always be open access to the internet and that there was a need to stop obsessing about net neutrality.
Separately, the Cinco Dias newspaper reported that Junquera is planning to ask European Commissioner Neelie Kroes to develop clear rules that provide incentives for operators to invest in next-generation network and that avoid legal uncertainty. Junquera was speaking at the Foro Sociedad en Red, a forum that focuses on the development of the information society in Spain.
