Following the demerger from infrastructure unit Chorus last week, incumbent Telecom New Zealand has started reviewing its capital structure.
Paul Reynolds, Telecom NZ CEO, said: “The new board has endorsed management’s commencement of a review to ensure Telecom’s capital structure is appropriate as we move into the new world.”
The company further stated that it is looking to adopt a capital structure consistent with maintaining an ‘A band’ credit rating. More information is expected when Telecom NZ presents its half year results in February 2012.
