Incumbent Telecom Egypt has appointed Mohamed Shamroukh as new CFO with immediate effect.
Shamroukh first joined the company in 2002 as a network engineer. He has since held various positions and most recently served as director of corporate strategy.
Shamroukh replaces Hassan Helmy, who left the company in early February for personal reasons, according to a statement from the company.
The telco has seen a spate of management changes in the past 18 months. CEO Tarek Aboualam was appointed in January 2012 and resigned in July, followed by longstanding chairman Akil Beshir’s departure in October.
Mohamed Amin El-Nawawy is Telecom Egypt’s current CEO while Omar El Sheikh serves as chairman.
