Teldat Group, the Spanish telecoms infrastructure/services group, has agreed to acquire the German business-facing ICT manufacturer Funkwerk Enterprise Communications.
No financial details were disclosed. The deal was agreed last week and will be completed once the conditions have been met.
Teldat Group is a Madrid-based holding company that brings together various companies focussing on the provision of telecoms infrastructure and services.
Its subsidiaries include fibre optic company Fibernet and Teldat, which provides devices for voice and data transmission and security applications on IP networks,.
Funkwerk provides voice/data transmission and security products for businesses.
The president of Teldat Group, Antonio Garcia Marcos, said: “This merger brings significant opportunities to both companies, increasing our combined global footprint and presence in strategic markets and also reinforcing our capabilities in technology and product innovation.”
Funkwerk said in a statement that the acquisition significantly expands Teldat Group’s European presence.
“With [Funkwerk], Teldat incorporates a leading German ICT manufacturer with a competitive product portfolio and direct access to key European markets through its regional offices in Germany, Austria, Italy, and France,” it said.
