Indian telco Tata Communications has hired Pratibha K Advani as its new CFO.
Advani will be responsible for the strategic financial management of the company, as well as corporate affairs and investor relations, the Mumbai-based company said in a statement.
She succeeds Sanjay Baweja, who left last November to become CFO of online retailer Flipkart.
Advani joins Tata from IT services and software providers NIIT Technologies, where she was CFO. She has previously served as CFO at Barclays Shared Services and as vice president for finance and CFO at GE-SBI Cards, a joint venture between GE Capital and State Bank of India. She began her career with Indian conglomerate ITC, working for more than 15 years in its hotels division.
Tata MD and CEO Vinod Kumar said Advani “brings the right mix of experience and creativity to the team as we continue on our growth trajectory. [Her] acumen in operating with high margin businesses to enable value-creating growth is well recognised in the industry.”
