SyriaTel and MTN to pay $500m to convert BOT to full licences

They will each pay…

Following the opening up of Syria’s mobile market to a third operator, the two existing mobile operators, SyriaTel and MTN Syria, have said that they will be converting their build-operate-transfer contracts to full mobile licences.

They will each pay S£25bn (US$500m) for 20-year mobile concessions.
