TDC and France Telecom have launched an appeal against the Swiss regulators decision to reject plans to merge their mobile phone operators in the country.
The combination of Sunrise and Orange was surprisingly scuppered by regulators last month citing concerns that the merged business would have a ‘dominant collective position’ in a market led by incumbent operator Swisscom. The combined Orange and Sunrise would have a 40% market share with Swisscom retaining 60%.
TDC and FT have now decided to go ahead with an appeal at Switzerland’s administrative court.
