Orbital Sciences Corporation has successfully launched its first Minotaur IV rocket. The Minotaur IV was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, and delivered the Defence Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA)’s new hypersonic HTV-2 vehicle to its separation point.
The Minotaur IV is capable of launching payloads to low earth orbit and is based on augmented decommissioned Peacekeeper ballistic missile systems.
