Danish cable group Stofa has been fined SKr100,000 (E13,422) for misleading Norwegian customers about the real costs of their subscriptions on its website.
Stofa is one of eight companies being investigated by Norway’s consumer ombudsman over the transparency of pricing plans, according to local reports.
Ole Simonsen, chief executive of Stofa, argues the fine is out of proportion for punishing the company over an “error” on its website, which he says did not deceive or mislead customers.
In a statement, he added that the company will pay the fine because it would cost too much to take the matter to court.
Ratos, a Swedish private equity firm that acts for the Söderberg family, acquired Stofa from Swedish operator TeliaSonera last month for DK1.1bn (US$147.5m).
