Nigeria’s mobile operator Starcomms has invested NgN1.35bn (US$8.6m) to expand the capacity and coverage of its CDMA network, reported Telegeography.
The network is reportedly serving ten additional cities: Abuja, Oran, Ikot-Ekpene and Eket, Jaji, Suleja, Maiduguri, Umuahia, Tinapa and Agbor.
Starcomms is Nigeria’s fourth mobile operator with reportedly 1.15 million CDMA mobile users and over 575,000 fixed-wireless telephony and internet users at the end of 2010.
The company was not immediately available for comments.
