Spain’s antitrust regulator CNC has announced it has launched an investigation into allegations that the nation’s top three mobile phone operators – Telefonica, Vodafone and France Telecom Orange – have breached fair competition rules.
CNC said the probe is a response to a complaint filed by British telco BT and its local subsidiary, BT Espana, claiming the three operators have been squeezing the profit margins of MVNOs.
The regulator said in the statement the probe must close within 18 months.
