Eric Medow is to join Lazard (NYSE:LAZ) as a managing director and co-head of global technology, media and telecommunications, financial advisory, in mid-October, the bank has announced.
He moves from Citigroup, where he has headed up the global telecoms group since 2011.
Based in New York, Medow will co-head global TMT with Paul Haigney in San Francisco, and work closely with Vincent le Stradic in Paris regarding TMT in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
“Eric has counselled senior management and boards on many of the most significant telecommunications transactions of the past two decades,” said Alexander F. Stern, CEO of Lazard Financial Advisory. “His relationships, industry knowledge and experience make him a strong addition to our global TMT franchise.”
TMT banker Woody Young left Lazard for boutique Perella Weinberg in April.
During his 25 years advising telecom operators on M&A and strategy, Medow has also been co-head of Citigroup’s North American communications group, managing director at Carlyle and banker at Salomon Brothers.
