Hong Kong telco Smartone has issued US$200m notes.
The new offering, due 8 April 2023, carries a coupon of 3.875% and yields at 4.009% according to Reuters.
HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank and UBS are joint bookrunners and lead managers on the deal.
Proceeds from the notes will be used for “general working capital purposes” and “future capital investments in spectrum and infrastructure”, according to a company statement announcing the planned issue on 21 March.
As TelecomFinance previously reported, Smartone was one of four successful bidders to secure 4G spectrum at Hong Kong’s auction last month. The telco will pay a total of HK$640m (US$82.5m) for two frequency bands.
SmarTone must also submit a performance bond and said it will arrange for a bank in Hong Kong to issue the HK$100m (US$12.9m) offering, according to a statement on the Hong Kong stock exchange at the time.
