Slovakia plans to sell its minority stake in Slovak Telekom in an international tender or an IPO, finance minister Ivan Miklos was quoted saying in Reuters.
Minister of finance spokesman Martin Jaros said: “Once the means of privatisation are determined so will further details be specified”.
“The plan is to sell the entire 49% stake. As for the timeline, the intention is to have the whole privatisation over by autumn of 2012,” he added.
The ministry of economy holds 34% of the telecoms incumbent, while the National Property Fund (FNM) owns 15%. The operator is controlled by Deutsche Telekom which has a 51% stake.
