South Korean mobile operator SK Telecom is bidding for Indonesian cable TV and internet group First Media, reported Total Telecom citing undisclosed sources.
SK Telecom is owned by Indonesian conglomerate Lippo Group, which is reportedly seeking US$600m-US$800m for the company.
Citing one source, the report claims that, although negotiations are at a very early stage, local Indonesian firms have also placed bids for the Jakarta-headquartered group.
First Media’s EBITDA for the nine months to 30 September was Rp170bn (US$18.8m), on revenues of Rp605.84bn (US$67m), the report adds.
