Mobile and fixed-line operator Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) has appointed Hui Weng Cheong as CEO of its International division, the company said in a statement to the Singapore Exchange.
Hui will assume the charge as of December 1, succeeding Lim Chuan Poh who is retiring from SingTel. He will be responsible for SingTel’s overseas investments, which include stakes in Indian mobile phone operator Bharti and in Telkomsel, a mobile phone services provider based in Indonesia.
Hui is currently the chief operating officer with SingTel’s Thai associate, Advanced Info Service.
