Singapore’s three main telcos will be offered additional spectrum for S$20m (US$15.2m) each after the country’s 3G auction failed to attract a fourth bidder, according to reports.
Existing Asian mobile operators SingTel, MobileOne and StarHub already held spectrum that was issued by Singapore watchdog IDA in April 2001. An auction for additional spectrum had been planned for November 2010 before IDA reportedly registered a lack of interest.
IDA was unavailable to comment before the press deadline.
