US telco Shenandoah Telecommunications Company (Shentel) has completed the acquisition of all of the cable assets of Jet Broadband for US$148m.
Jet’s cable operations were centred on West Virginia and cover at least 115,000 households. The transaction was financed with a US$248m loan arranged by Co-Bank, BB&T, ACB and Wells Fargo with the participation of 15 other banks. Shentel also announced that it will invest US$33m in the next 24 months in the network to upgrade it and offer video, HD, DVR, faster Internet speed and voice services.
