Saudi Oger has rejected suggestions it is considering offers for its stake in Oger Telecom which, in turn, has a majority shareholding in Turk Telecom.
Saudi Oger issued the statement in response to a Reuters report yesterday claiming that Qatar had approached the company, owned by the family of the former Lebanese prime minister Rafik al-Hariri, about acquiring its 55% stake in Oger Telecom.
“Saudi Oger remains highly committed to its investment in Oger Telecom and all its operating subsidiaries,” the statement read. “No offers for the sale of its stake in Oger Telecom are being considered by Saudi Oger at this time.”
