Rostelecom intends to acquire a majority stake in GNC-Alfa of Armenia, according to Kommersant paper quoted by Russian state owned news agency Ria Novosti.
According to the article, which referred to an unnamed source close to Rostelecom, the Russian operator plans to pay US$22.5m for 75% minus one share in the company.
In case of a successful deal, GNC-Alfa would be Rostelecom’s first acquisition outside Russia.
The source reportedly hinted that Rostelecom could also buy Armenian internet provider Ucom.
