The Romanian regulator ANCOM has approved the use of 900 MHz and 1800 MHz frequencies for 3G services.
This concerns GSM operators Orange Romania, Vodafone Romania and Cosmote Romanian Mobile Telecommunications, which will need to upgrade their networks to host equipment capable of using both 2G and 3G technologies.
There are four 3G licence holders in Romania: Orange, Vodafone, Telemobil and RCS&RDS.
