Reliance Globalcom, the international unit of Indian mobile operator Reliance Communications (RCom), has appointed Rory Cole to the newly-created position of CFO.
Cole was previously chief operating officer of Reliance Globalcom’s data and voice business units.
His appointment comes a couple of months after Bill Barney became CEO of the company, which comprises three offshore businesses: Flag, Yipes and Vanco.
Last week, Barney said that Globalcom was no longer for sale and was instead looking to raise either equity or debt to finance its expansion projects.
Globalcom claims to serve more than 2,100 enterprises, 200 carriers and 2.5 million retail customers in 163 countries across six continents. The business owns an undersea cable system spanning 65,000km.
