Zambia’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has reportedly asked Bharti Airtel to make an independent valuation of its newly acquired Zain Zambia, Telegeography reports.
The regulator reportedly rejected last month Bharti’s offer to minority shareholders, considering the price of Z$710 per share as too low. In August the SEC had already refused a proposal at K$675.
Minority shareholders own 22% of Zain Zambia.
The company was not immediately available for comments.
