India’s Reliance Communications (RCOM) has rolled out 3G in four major Indian cities before launching the services in 13 of the country’s 22 circles by 31 March, according to local reports.
The operator, which paid more than US$2.5bn for the licences in June this year, has reportedly begun offering 3G in Delhi, Chandigarh, Mumbai and Kolkata.
A strategic partnership was announced on 4 August between RCOM and entertainment giant Universal Music to offer music-related content across its mobile platforms.
