Raoul Roverato, the current EVP of France Telecom’s New Growth Business activity, has been appointed VP of the Enterprise Line of Business in Orange Spain as from 10 January 2011. Xavier Couture, current head of the France Telecom’s Content Division, will replace him as interim VP of the New Growth Business activity.
According to France Telecom’s statement, Roverato’s new role “underlines the importance of the Enterprise segment to future growth at Orange Spain”.
Orange Spain’s Enterprise business offers fixed and mobile services to SMEs and large businesses. With the consumer business “showing significant improvement both in terms of customer growth and financial performance”, France Telecom is keen to “stimulate the B2B segment in Spain in order to create a similar improvement”.
During his time at New Growth Business activity, Roverato “led the Group into new business areas, including content, audience and advertising, and healthcare. Under his leadership, these activities represent almost 20% of the Group’s total revenues today, compared to 6% in 2008”, the statement added.
Roverato also spent seven years working at Orange Business Services, where he took on various senior roles including VP Voice Marketing and head of OBS Consulting.
Olaf Swantee, EVP for France Telecom’s European operations, commented “I am delighted that Raoul has agreed to take the leadership of Orange Spain’s Enterprise Line of Business at this critical time. In addition, I am also convinced that our consumer activity in Spain will stand to benefit from Raoul’s considerable experience in content and new business development. Indeed, as our mobile activity in particular continues to grow, Orange needs to build on this momentum by offering its customers an exciting new generation of offers based on content and internet services.”
Roverato has been at France Telecom since 1994, focusing on B2B segment in France and then working as Chief of Staff of the Group’s CEO, Didier Lombard, for four years. He has also spent time at Global One and Equant, which after acquisition by FT became Orange Business Services.
