US technology company Qualcomm is reportedly in advanced talks with cellco Bharti Airtel to sell its local spectrum licences.
A sale of the spectrum in the 2.3GHz BWA band could be worth US$1.2bn-US$1.3bn.
Last year, Qualcomm – together with Global Group/GTL and Tulip Telecom – paid some US$1.05bn for the TD-LTE licences in Mumbai, Delhi, Kerala and Haryana.
Bharti already owns BWA licences in Kolkata, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Punjab.
Reliance Infotel also owns a TD-LTE licence, while stateowned BSNL and MTNL have opted for WiMax.
