Francesco Profumo has resigned as an independent director of incumbent Telecom Italia to take up a role as the country’s Minister for Education, University and Research.
Profumo became a TI independent director on 12 April 2011, and was also a member of the company’s remuneration committee.
“Telecom Italia thanks Professor Profumo for his valuable and authoritative contribution and wishes him all the best in his new important role,” said the company in a statement today.
