Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has launched a formal investigation to find out whether the three largest mobile operators have overcharged subscribers making calls from outside the country, according to media reports.
If MTS, VimpelCom and MegaFon are found guilty, they could be fined up to 15% of their roaming revenues. The probe can last up to nine months.
Roaming revenues represent less than 5% of the operators’ full revenues.
