Kazakhstan’s Agency for the Protection of Competition has launched an investigation to find out whether mobile operators have charged excessive international roaming rates, Telegeography reports.
The mobile operators to be probed are reportedly GSM Kazakhstan, KaR-Tel, Altel and Mobile Telecom Service.
If found guilty, the operators could face fines of up to KZT28bn (E151m).
The Kazakh regulator was not immediately available for comments
