The probe into the mobile concession prices dispute has been postponed until after July 2011, when the Thai general election is expected to take place, according to the Bangkok Post.
Jeerawan Boonperm, the chairman of the committee set up by the government to investigate changes made to concession prices a few years ago, was quoted saying that talks between operators have so far failed.
Both state-owned CAT and TOT have been seeking compensation from several mobile operators since the end of last year following an investigation into the mobile concession dispute.
In 2003, the former government changed its concession regime in order to reduce costs for consumers and allegedly to benefit some cellcos. But in 2007, the Council of State reportedly ruled that those changes failed to comply with regulations, as they had not been approved by coordinating committees and the Cabinet.
