Spartan Capital Holdings, the special purpose vehicle created by Zygmunt Solorz-Zak, has reportedly offered to repurchase any or all of Polkomtel’s PLN1bn floating-rate notes maturing in 2015.
According to Reuters this move would avoid any delay in settling the bond’s repayment, which will be triggered once the Polkomtel acquisition is completed.
Zygmunt Solorz-Zak agreed to buy Polkomtel, the second largest mobile operator in Poland, in July for PLN18.1bn (E4.5bn).
The transaction is expected to complete in the final quarter of 2011.
