Telikom, Papua New Guinea’s incumbent, has appointed Michael Donnelly to the newly-created position of CEO.
Donnelly was previously executive director for the New South Wales Department of Finance, where he was involved in preparing state-owned entity businesses for privatisation, according to a Telikom statement.
The operator is itself state-controlled and it appears that previous privatisation plans did not eventuated.
Chairman Mahesh Patel commented on Donnelly’s appointment saying his leadership will “continue to build Telikom PNG into a more focused organisation making it a sustainable business”.
