Ivan Seidenberg, CEO of Verizon Communications up until last summer, has joined Perella Weinberg as an advisory partner.
The investment banks said that Seidenberg will advise the firm on strategy as it looks to expand and enhance its business.
“[Seidenberg] has more than 45 years of telecommunications experience and was responsible for leading Verizon’s transformation into the premier global network company. Mr. Seidenberg is a member of the [US] President’s Export Council and the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee, and he served as Chairman of the Business Roundtable,” the bank said in a statement.
Seidenberg stepped down as Verizon CEO in July 2011 but continued to serve as chairman and on the board through December 2011 when he retired from the company.
Seidenberg was chairman and CEO of Verizon’s predecessor companies,
NYNEX and Bell Atlantic, and has 45 years experience in telecoms.
Seidenberg also serves on the board of BlackRock.
