RPR Privatstiftung, the investment company of Austrian businessman Ronny Pecik, has taken control directly or indirectly of 15.018% of Telekom Austria shares.
In a statement, Telekom Austria said that RPR Privatstiftung also indirectly holds call options to acquire a further 0.79% of Telekom Austria shares.
On Friday, RPR Privatstiftung exercised call options for 5.4% of Telekom Austria shares. These options had previously been acquired by RPR’s subsidiary, Marathon Zwei Beteiligungs GmbH.
On the same day, Marathon acquired and exercised call options for 9.5% of Telekom Austria shares.
A separate RPR subsidiary, Everest Investment GmbH, holds 0.03% of Telekom Austria’s outstanding shares and has call options to acquire 0.79% of its shares.
Separately, the state investment and privatisation agency OeIAG has reportedly rejected an approach for its 28.42% stake in Telekom Austria by a group of investors from Oman.
Citing the Austrian magazine Format, Reuters reported that Austrian businessman Mirko Kovats had written to OeIAG to express Omani interest in the stake in Telekom Austria.
OeIAG reportedly ruled out any such sale in its reply to Kovats.
