France Telecom’s B2B division, Orange Business Services, is expanding its enterprise offering with the launch of a hub that will link VPNs to cloud services providers.
Called Business VPN Galerie, the service provides secure gateways for its enterprise customers to the cloud, together with end-to-end user support.
“Orange Business Services is extending its network as an intermediation platform between its customers and their cloud provider, allowing them to optimize further their IT and network,” said Marc Blanchet, senior vice president for global communication services at Orange Business Services.
“Our customers have one place to call and have access to skilled resources fully responsible for their connection to cloud services.”
Although Business VPN Galerie is currently only available in France, with 12 customers already signed up, an international pilot for the solution will take place in Q1 2011.
The group has also announced plans to extend its Flexible Computing Services range with a bespoke solution called Flexible Computing Premium, which promises more flexibility, personalisation and quality of service.
According to Orange, this new offering underlines its commitment to cloud computing and infrastructure as a service.
It sees cloud computing as a key economic driver, capable of generating E500m in 2015.
