Belgian wireless technology firm Option announced yesterday that it had appointed Jan Smits to replace JP Ziegler as the company’s CFO.
In a statement, Option said that the company and Ziegler had come to a mutual agreement that he should leave his role to pursue new opportunities.
Smit has worked as CFO for the Belgium-based industrial holding company Punch International, and later the CFO of Punch Grafix after the company listed on the London Stock Exchange.
The company said that Ziegler had joined in 2008 at a time when it was expanding into the wireless industry. But since then, it said that it had gone through a repositioning, which meant it was focussing on a set of key markets.
As a result of this new profile, Option and Ziegler had decided that the company had new requirement s at this time.
