NTT Data Corporation, a subsidiary of Japanese telco NTT, has announced the completion of its acquisition of Keane International, the US-based IT services provider.
In a statement today, NTT Data said that it had received regulatory approval for the acquisition. It will merge its subsidiary, Knight Subsidiary Corporation, into Keane International, which will become a subsidiary of NTT Data.
Keane International is based in Boston, but also operates in Australasia, the Far East and several European countries.
The move is being seen as part of a shift by Japanese telcos to increase their global presence.
In a statement in October where it announced the planned acquisition of Keane International, NTT Data said that it aimed to increase its international revenue to Y300bn (US$3.65bn) by the end of fiscal year 2013.
This news comes after NTT completed its acquisition of Dimension Data, the South African IT services provider, for US$2.1bn in December 2010.
