Nokia Solutions and Networks (NSN) executive chairman Jesper Ovesen is to quit his position in Q1 2014, once the sale of Nokia’s devices and services unit to Microsoft is complete.
In a company statement, Nokia chairman and interim CEO Risto Siilasmaa said Ovesen has played a “critical part in building a stronger NSN”.
Ovesen, who has been with the infrastructure business of the Finnish vendor for over two years, will continue to serve in an advisory position.
In December, the European Commission cleared the €5.4bn (US$7.16bn) deal, after approval from US antitrust regulator the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and a successful shareholder vote in November.
