Finnish vendor Nokia announced a raft of management changes as it unveiled further measures to slash costs, including cutting 10,000 employees by the end of 2013.
Juha Putkiranta, formerly VP for the group’s supply chain division, has been promoted to executive VP of operations. Timo Toikkanen, VP for business development, programmes and special projects, has been promoted to executive VP of mobile phones, and Chris Weber, senior VP for markets, has been promoted to executive VP of sales and marketing.
They will join Nokia’s leadership team on 1 July.
The vendor also announced the resignations of Jerri DeVard, executive VP and chief marketing officer, Mary McDowell, executive VP of mobile phones, and Niklas Savander, executive VP of markets. They are stepping down on 30 June “to pursue other opportunities outside of Nokia”, stated the company.
