NTT Communications, a network management services provider and subsidiary of telco Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT), said it has acquired a 70% stake in Australia-based Frontline Systems Australia, which provides IT infrastructure and consulting services.
“NTT Com will provide high-quality ICT services for enterprises by integrating Frontline’s server-related technologies with the NTT Group’s network-integration, software-development and maintenance capabilities. NTT Com will also accelerate cloud services development by utilizing Frontline’s subsidiary Harbour MSP’s data center-related technologies,” according to a joint statement.
NTT Com and Frontline could not be reached for comment before the press deadline.
This deal comes about ten months after parent company NTT launched an offer to buy South African IT services firm Dimension Data for £2.1bn. It said it would finance the acquisition with existing cash resources and loan facilities arranged by the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ.
The Japanese company was advised by Morgan Stanley, while Dimension Data hired JPMorgan.
