Nextel’s Peruvian unit is believed to have raised a US$130m loan last month, funds which will be used to grown the telco’s mobile operations in Peru.
Nextel Peru announced in mid December that it plans to launch mobile broadband services in the country, after it in 2007 won spectrum in the 1900MHz frequency band.
Nextel Peru is believed to hold an approximately 4% market share.
