Simon Moutter, who was expected to take up the role of CEO of incumbent Telecom New Zealand on 1 September, will now start on 13 August already.
He will replace Paul Reynolds, who left the company on 30 June with a termination payment of NZ$1.75m (US$1.4m).
Last year, Reynolds had announced he would step down once Telecom NZ establishes itself as an independent network business. This step was a requirement to take part in the country’s national broadband network project.
In the interim, Chris Quin, the head of Telecom NZ’s Gen-i subsidiary, is acting as CEO.
