Sifiso Dabengwa has been appointed CEO and president of South Africa’s MTN Group to succeed Phuthuma Nhleko, who will step down on March 31, 2011.
Dabengwas is currently group chief operating officer, a position which is expected to disappear.

Sifiso Dabengwa has been appointed CEO and president of South Africa’s MTN Group to succeed Phuthuma Nhleko, who will step down on March 31, 2011.
Dabengwas is currently group chief operating officer, a position which is expected to disappear.
Nhleko will join the MTN board again as non-executive vice chairman and will become non-executive chairman of the board of director of MTN’s international operations unit, MTNI
MTN said Nhleko would take up these two new roles on October 1, 2011 to facilitate continuity in the group’s international relationships and operations.
