Mobile operator Airtel Ghana has appointed Lucy Quist as new managing director, taking over from Philip Sowah as of May.
Quist will join the company from rival Vodafone Ghana, where she has been director for the enterprise business unit. Before that, she worked for Millicom as chief marketing officer in the DRC.
Sowah is expected to continue playing a governance role in Airtel Ghana’s CSR foundation.
Bharti Airtel, the unit’s Indian parent, has made a number of executive changes at its African operations since the beginning of the year. Most recently, Adil El Youssefi became the new managing director of Airtel Kenya.
