The Bolivian government has appointed Pedro Clifford Paravicini Hurtado as the new executive director of telecoms and transport regulator ATT.
In a statement yesterday, ATT said that Paravicini has previously worked at the previous regulatory body, SITTEL, which no longer exists.
He has participated in the regulation of internet use in Bolivia and the development of new technologies. He has also been an adviser to various NGOs.
Paravicini was quoted saying that one of his key goals was to assist in drawing up the framework for a telecommunications law aimed at promoting competition.
