Elaph Multi-Media, the Arabic news provider, is to launch a new Gulf-based satellite television channel.
The company has appointed Dubai based investment advisory firm Greenstone Equity Partners to oversee the channel’s launch and secure funding for the project.
Greenstone’s Managing Director, Omar Al-Gharabally, stated, “We are eager to oversee the launch of such an innovative addition to available media programming.
WWith international media firms now focusing close attention on the Gulf region, EMM’s vision provides substantial opportunity for Gulf- based investors who see the strategic prospects the channel offers.”
The channel is slated to be launched early next year and will be led by Nicholas Claxton, the veteran British media entrepreneur and founder and managing director of Elaph, the largest online daily newspaper in the Middle East.
The new satellite channel will be produced and broadcast from the Twofour54 facilities in Abu Dhabi. Twofour54 is a government-backed tax-free media and entertainment free zone based in the Emirate.
