Norway’s Telenor has appointed a new management team for recently-acquired Bulgarian mobile unit Globul.
In a statement, Telenor named Terje Borje as the new CFO of the Bulgarian business. Borje was CFO of Telenor’s DiGi Malaysia, the nation’s third-largest mobile operator, for the past three years.
Sasa Filipovic, previously chief strategy officer at Telenor Serbia, is Globul’s new chief commercial officer. The company’s new strategy officer is Torstein Pederson, Telenor’s former VP of strategy and development in Europe. The new chief technology officer is Atiq Ahmad, who previously held the same position in Telenor Montenegro.
Other management roles remain unchanged.
Telenor completed its €717m takeover of Globul in late July and officially consolidated it within the group on 1 August.
The Norwegian telco named Stein-Erik Vellan as the incoming CEO shortly after the European Commission cleared the deal, saying he would be formally appointed when the deal was finalised.
Globul is Bulgaria’s second-largest mobile operator with 4.5 million subscribers and a 36% market share at the end of 2012.
