German cableco Kabel Deutschland (KDG)has appointed Andreas Siemen as new CFO, the company announced. He will take up his post on 1 October.
Siemen joined KDG in 2003. Most recently he was in charge of strategy, M&A and corporate finance, and he was also involved in the 2010 IPO of KDG.
Prior to joining KDG he worked for more than ten years at McKinsey, primarily advising telecoms companies.
KDG CEO Adrian Hammerstein commented: “I am very pleased to have Andreas join the Management Board to succeed Paul [Thomason] as Kabel Deutschland’s CFO. In addition to strong financial skills, he brings a wealth of experience and understanding of our company and of the industry as a whole to this role, which will help with a rapid and smooth transition and ensure our continuing success.
KDG is Germany’s largest cable operator, with networks in 13 German federal states. The company generated revenues of E1.6bn (US$2.31bn) in fiscal year 2010/11, and an adjusted EBITDA of E729m (US$1.06bn).
